American Union Lodge No. 1 Free & Accepted Masons would like to invite Masons and Non-Masons, alike, to visit the new masonic website at  The site is a great source of information and local history about American Union Lodge No. 1 as well as a great way to get introduced to Freemasonry.

Freemasons have been involved in Marietta, Ohio for 221 years.  American Union Lodge No. 1 was formed in 1776 and was a Military Lodge.  Jonathan Heart was the Master of the Lodge when it settled in Marietta, Ohio at Campus Martius on June 28, 1790.  It is one of the oldest fraternal organizations in Marietta.

Freemasonry is the oldest, largest and most widely recognized fraternal organization in the world.  Thirteen signers of the Constitution and fourteen Presidents of the United States, including George Washington, were Freemasons.  Today, there are more than 2 million Freemasons in North America alone, 106,000 of which are Ohio Freemasons.

Freemasons are men, age 19 and over, of good character who strive to improve themselves and make the world a better place, and have a belief in a Supreme Being.  If an individual is interested in becoming a member, he can begin by contacting a Lodge in his area or speaking to a Freemason.
